Las Cuevas de Luis Candelas is considered one of the most traditional restaurants in Madrid. Everyone who visits us is welcomed by Candelas himself, and served by staff dressed in the typical clothing worn by this famous bandit in the 19th century. It has several rooms that reflect different atmospheres and transport its customers to another era, offering a quality service. On its terrace you can enjoy its Madrid cuisine, next to the Arco de Cuchilleros.

In ‘Las Cuevas de Luis Candelas’ the uses and customs of Madrid have been recovered, which are the basis of its gastronomic tradition. There are several specialities on offer, including its famous roast suckling pig and suckling lamb, roasted in an Arabic oak wood-fired oven, Callos a la madrileña, its Cocido de Puchero (stew) or the typical desserts of Madrid. The restaurant offers a varied and extensive wine list, which has been carefully selected to accompany its gastronomy.

With more than 160 years of history, ‘Las Cuevas de Luis Candelas’ continues to open its doors every day, preserving the style, typicality and uniqueness of that time.
